Weather & Operating Conditions Policy
Lou’s Mini Doughnuts
At Lou’s Mini Doughnuts, we take pride in serving fresh, made-to-order mini doughnuts at events throughout the year. We appreciate every opportunity to be part of your special occasion and do everything possible to provide a great experience.
However, because we operate out of specialized food trucks and trailers, certain weather conditions can make it unsafe or impossible for us to travel, set up, or operate.
We ask that all customers review and understand the following policy before booking an event.
Severe Weather & Unsafe Conditions
Our food trucks, trailers, and equipment are extremely heavy and require safe conditions for transportation and operation.
For the safety of our staff, customers, and equipment, we cannot travel, set up, or operate during unsafe weather conditions, including but not limited to:
-
Snow, ice, or hazardous road conditions
-
Thunderstorms, lightning, or severe storms
-
High winds that could affect the safety of our equipment
-
Heavy rain, flooding, or unsafe ground conditions
-
Any other weather conditions that make travel or operation unsafe
Even if an event is still taking place, weather conditions may prevent us from safely attending.
Freezing Temperatures
Unlike food trucks that simply serve prepared food, we make all of our mini doughnuts fresh to order, right on-site.
Our equipment, ingredients, plumbing, and water systems require suitable temperatures to function properly.
We cannot operate in freezing temperatures (32°F or below). These conditions can cause water lines to freeze, damage expensive equipment, and prevent us from safely preparing our products.
These are not simply preferences or inconveniences. They are physical limitations of our equipment and operation.
Extreme Heat & Other Conditions
While we are equipped to operate in typical summer weather, extreme heat or other environmental conditions may also affect our ability to operate safely.
We may need to suspend or cancel service if conditions create a safety concern for our staff, customers, or equipment.
Weather-Related Cancellations
We understand that considerable planning goes into every event, and we never want to disappoint our customers.
However, Lou’s Mini Doughnuts reserves the right to postpone, suspend, or cancel service whenever weather, temperature, road conditions, or site conditions prevent safe travel or operation.
We will make every reasonable effort to communicate concerns as early as possible, but weather conditions can change unexpectedly, sometimes requiring a last-minute decision.
The final decision regarding safe travel and operation rests with Lou’s Mini Doughnuts, regardless of whether the event itself proceeds as scheduled.
Any applicable deposits, refunds, or rescheduling arrangements will be handled according to the terms of your booking agreement.
Our Commitment to You
Please understand that weather-related cancellations are never decisions we take lightly.
Our business depends on attending events, and we want to be there just as much as you want us there. However, operating a mobile food business involves equipment and safety considerations that are not always visible to customers.
Our goal is never to find a reason not to attend an event, but to make sure we can provide the quality and service you expect without putting anyone or our equipment at risk.
We appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of Lou’s Mini Doughnuts.
By booking Lou’s Mini Doughnuts, you acknowledge and understand that all events are subject to safe weather, temperature, travel, and operating conditions.
